How to install/uninstall licenses on computers not connected to Internet

Note: The steps outlined below should be used for the following builds:

  • Ecrion Design Studio; builds older 7.0.0 (e.g. 6.5.0, 4.0.0) 
  • XF Rendering Server; any build version or type 
  • XF Designer; any build version

If you are using Ecrion Design Studio 7.0.0 or newer please follow the steps here.

If you are trying to install or uninstall a license on a computer behind a firewall or proxy (or with no Internet connection) you will need to perform an offline install/uninstall.

Offline Install

  1. Log in to to your Ecrion Account. Under the Licensing tab you will find the list of licenses you purchased.
  2. Install the latest release of your purchased application. You can find the latest releases in your Ecrion Account under the Downloads tab.
  3. Open the License Administrator utility.This utility can be located in the Start Menu, under All Programs, and then under the Ecrion product you've purchased (if EOS, XF Rendering Server or any other Ecrion server product, open the Management Console and you will find it there).
  4. Here you will see a list of installed licenses. NOTE: The list will be empty if this is your first license install on this machine.
  5. Select "Install" on the right of the License Administrator window.
  6. Select the type of license (License Key). You you are installing a floating license please follow the steps on how to install a floating license.
  7. Now, from the Licensing tab in your Ecrion Account, copy and paste an available license key into the License Administrator and select "Next". NOTE: You must ensure you select the correct version of the License Administrator. This can be found at the top of the License Administrator window.
  8. You should now see a check if the license is valid. NOTE: If you receive an invalid warning, please check to ensure that no trailing or leading spaces are present while pasting the key and try again.
  9. Select the activation method (Offline). 
  10. Once you select the offline option, click the Next button. 
  11. A string will be generated that you will need to copy and save (word, txt, etc.) to be used in later steps from another machine that does have online access (you can always write this string down, but it may be many characters and leaves room for error). 
  12. From a computer that is connected to the internet, visit your Ecrion Account
  13. Select the License ID of the license you would like to install.
  14. From the popup dialog select the Install License button. Paste the string generated in step 11 and select install. This will generate an activation response string. You will need to copy this to use in the final step on the offline machine. 
  15. On the offline machine, paste the string from step 14 in the License Administrator where requested. Your license should now be activated. 

Offline Uninstall 

On the machine that you want to uninstall the license from:

  1. Open the License Administrator utility. 
  2. Select the license you would like to uninstall from the list provided.
  3. Select the "Uninstall" button on the right hand side of the License Administrator.
  4. When prompted select the Offline option and select "Next".
  5. A string will be generated that you will need to copy and save (word, txt, etc.) to be used in later steps from another machine that does have online access (you can always write this string down, but it may be many characters and leaves room for error).
  6. From a computer that is connected to the internet, visit your customer portal and select the License ID of the license you would like to uninstall.
  7. From the popup dialog, select the Uninstall License button, paste the string generated from step 2 and select Uninstall. Your license should now be uninstalled.
